Our client seeks a Farm Director for their large farming enterprise in the West Midlands. Currently the established business consists of circa 5000 acres, comprising of cereal, OSR and vegetable production. The role offers a great deal of autonomy for the right individual. The manager of this exciting opportunity will be responsible for all of the farm operations including the management of a significant number of staff, planning, organising and supervising all of the arable enterprises - including planning finances and budgeting. An essential part of the role will be to develop a progressive plan for the farm in conjunction with the owner, and then deliver it. The successful candidate will be reliable, trustworthy, conscientious, self-motivated and still be prepared to be a "hands on" practical farm manager when required. - At least three years previous arable farm management experience of large scale production and several years' practical arable farming knowledge. - Applicants must have previous people management experience, with the ability to make decision and delegate to others. •Articulate in presenting a farm business proposal. •Excellent in dealing with colleagues, associates and also diplomatic with the local community. •Must be able to act as an ambassador amongst the farming fraternity as required, maintaining the existing integrity of the business. •Numerate, budget and IT literate. •An excellent planner and organiser. •Striving to achieve the ideal balance between the highest standards of husbandry and profitability. •Health and Safety literate. •BASIS and FACTS qualified.
