The Client A practical and commercially astute farming professional is required for a Feedstock Manager role near Norwich in Norfolk. Future Biogas is one of the leading renewable energy providers in the UK managing 10 AD/biogas plants across the country running them on a variety of feedstocks including maize, whole crop rye, grass and energy beet. With 6 plants in Norfolk, Future Biogas now require a Feedstock Manager to help secure, manage and optimise the supply of biomass crops for the digestion plants operating to the west and north of Norwich. The role Working closely with the Regional Feedstock Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring the right quality and volume of biomass is grown for the current sites. This will involve managing contracts with Farmers, supervising the activities of contractors, updating cropping records and mapping, ensuring that ensiling and storage is carried out properly whilst providing monthly reports on crops growing, harvesting and ultimate Feedstock quality. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 18 months experience working in an advisory, agronomy or farm management position in a business related to agriculture within the Norfolk and East Anglia region. Experience in dealing with local farmers, contractors and farm managers would be useful as well as familiarity with the essential matters like soil quality, crop husbandry and harvesting.
