Our client is the UK's premier fertiliser manufacturer and a major supplier of process chemicals and utilities. As well as our client being the UK's leading supplier of Nitrogen products to selected industrial markets and applications, it is also committed to British agriculture, making investment in production capacity and Advice & Services fundamental to the company's success Your Role Ensure that our client's exposure to commercial risk is managed and balanced through the initiation and execution of engineering term services and ensuring the correct strategic fit, specifically delivering on strategic procurement goals relating to cost, internal processes & competitive tenders. The job holder responds to the Senior Procurement Officer Services and is responsible for: - The identification, communication, agreement and execution of procurement and commercial management strategies which deliver measurable financial and commercial benefit at both Billingham and Ince. - Lead or assist in the preparation and quality of tender and contract documentation. - Lead or assist in the preparation of cost estimates for AFE’s, projects and outages. - Lead the tendering and negotiation of site based service and capex contracts. - Ensure the appropriate selection, validation and prequalification of all our clients site based service Contractors. - Lead the management of commercial risk, value management and cost control for our clients term and project contracts. - Provide support in the event of contractual claims. - Support the full procurement cycle for major site based frameworks, projects and turn around contracts from inception, through delivery and final account. - Provide support for ongoing management of contracts and ensure contracts are compliant with our clients policies and procedures and that all contracts are managed in accordance with contractual obligations and agreements. - Provide support with the ongoing performance of term contracts and contractors, provide accurate and timely feedback and improvement plans for key service providers. - Liaise with engineering on performance issues and providing feedback for term service contracts, preparing and presenting documents to support recommendations. - Provide support and advice to contract managers regarding the execution and management of NEC forms of contracts and be recognised as an expert in the commercial management of all forms and contract strategies. - Your Knowhow The successful candidate will ideally hold a CIPS qualification. You will require excellent interpersonal skills to aid developing strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers of services / products, the successful candidate will: - Be an experienced procurement professional within the chemical / engineering sectors. - Display a depth of experience in the field of contracting including a thorough understanding of tendering. - Ideally have a technical or engineering related qualification. - Have strong negotiation / contract skills & experience. Have the ability to control multiple contracts / projects. - Excellent organisation / project management skills. - You’ve a keen eye for detail.
